letter of..intent

weeknights dine-out,
Friday night gimmicks,
(and ofcourse) Citibank,

This letter intented to inform that I would not be able to be a regular visitor and your utmost devotee effective this very minute. I have decided to mellow down my social life (hmmm) and control myself intensely (errrr).

This decision is formally made due to this reason:

food tripping I

one of the highlights of my super long (CNY) double weekend was...
all about FOOD!


been cooking since day one from Sin City to Pinas..

the extreme part was most of the ingredients were just alternatives. whatever i found in the kitchen... pwede na yan!!!

Tortelloni Pasta
1 pack original/green tortelloni pasta
1 jar Traditional Prego pasta sauce
corned beef
minced garlic
chopped onions
fresh mushrooms
dried parsely
olive oil
salt and pepper
cheese

Cook tortellini according to package directions.

For the sauce, in a skillet, saute the garlic and onions in olive oil. Add the corned
beef, mushrooms; cook until mushrooms are tender. Stir in the pasta sauce; heat
through. Stir in grated cheese until melted. add the parsley, salt and pepper to
taste.


Drain tortellini and place in a serving dish; add the sauce and toss to coat.

Sprinkle with the shredded cheese if desired. baked in the oven for 10 minutes or
until cheese melted.


BBQ and Sweet & Spicy Chicken

1 pack ready-to-cook flavored chicken

heat oil in a pan, fry chicken until toasted. Drain and serve.










Pomelo Salad

pomelo wedges
2 limes, squeezed
fish sauce
dried shrimps, washed, roasted
crushed peanuts

Peel the pomelo and separate the sacs into a mixing bowl. Toss with the lime juice,
fish sauce. Dish onto a serving plate and top with the peanuts and dried shrimps.




Native Breakfast Rice


1 fresh native egg
margarine
fish sauce
1 cup steamed rice


mixed egg, tsp of margarine and fish sauce on rice.





Halabos na Hipon (Sauteed Shrimp)


put fresh jumping shrimp with salt in a pan. cook over 3-4 minutes.









Sinaing na Tulingan (Steamed Round Tuna?)


1 kilo small or medium size tulingan
1 small pc. pork fat optional
sampalok sinigang mix
salt


In a casserole put pork fat. Arrange sliced fish side by side, add enough water to
cover fish add salt and sampalok sinigang mix. Cover and simmer at low heat until
most of the liquid have evaporated.



Crabs


In a casserole, arrange sliced crabs, add enough water to
cover fish andsalt. Cover and simmer at low heat until
cooked.








Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Sauce




1 package linguini pasta
fresh mushrooms,
sliced butter
minced garlic
cream cheese
chopped fresh parsley
dried basil
boiling water
peeled shrimp


Cook linguini according to package directions.

For the sauce, heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add shrimp then garlic and mushrooms. Stir in the cream cheese. Stir in the parsley
and basil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Mix in boiling water until sauce is smooth.


Toss linguini.

Kung Hei Fat Choi

the extra gifts of life... celebrating two new year's day in a year!!! how cool is that? :)

on the street. over the radio. on my plate. and ofcourse in my pocket(hihi).

everything chinese!!!!

2-3 weeks of these...2-3 weeks more...

the massive outbreak of pongkans!!!

(the traditional pyramid box full of goodies.chinese cannedgoods? chinese crackers? chinese wine? chinese paper?)

we decided to divide the goodies..and what did i get to bring home???

(can still remember my boss uttering the words)

"i know you like to drink orpha, might as well bring the liquor and wine home."

err.busted..anyhow, i won't say no to that!;)

grilled chicken chorva in kakaenes sauce

typical friday conversation..

and just like mr. hubby said..
"ahhhh my friends with such superficial taste in humor"

few minutes before lunch time..

ninang: gutom na ko.craving for chicken chorva..ano nga yon, yung grilled tapos may sauce.
hubby: chicken chorva wit sauce?
ninang: ahehe
ninang: kakaenes
hubby: hihihi
hubby: feeling better dear?
ninang: feelin better about what..ni hindi ko maalala ang pangalan ng chicken na yan!!!!
hubby: short term memory loss yan sis hahaha
ninang: korek

hubby: tom jonez n rin ako
ninang: alalahanin mo muna yung chicken
hubby:
grilled chicken chorva in kakaenes sauce
hubby: bwahahaha
ninang: ahahahaha
hubby: i knew u wer going to ask tat agen
ninang: parang ang sarap non..ano kayang lasa ng kakaenes sauce.
ninang: panalo..ahahaha
hubby: ka-chovaness


hubby: chorva chix : ang piniritong baklang kikay na manok
ninang: korek..tipong paginiimagine ko ang pagkaing yan..baklangbakla ang chicken!!
hubby: samahan ng kakaenes sauce eh sobrang win na ititch!

and just as i was so irked in knowing the name of that damn food, went to the hawker center and searched the long list of western menus and found...

(i promised to take a photo of my lunch but then again the 'short term memory lost' attacked again...and so 'thanks to google' this is how it looks like!)
